GinLogistics Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026/08/10
Effective: 2026/08/10
This Privacy Policy explains how CottenTech, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the GinLogistics mobile application (the "App").
GinLogistics is a business tool for cotton growers and their representatives. It shows information about cotton as it moves through a cotton gin, including module receipt, ginning progress, bale production, and related records. The App is intended for use by adults in a commercial agricultural setting.
By using the App, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information we collect
Account information
You cannot create an account through the App. Access is set up for you by the gin you do business with, which provides us with your account details and issues your login credentials.
Contact information — your name, email address, and phone number, as provided by the gin or updated by you in the App.
Grower and business identifiers — your grower or producer ID, farm and field names, gin account numbers, and the gin or gins you are associated with.
Support communications — messages, questions, and feedback you send us.
Information we receive from the gin
Production and logistics data — module identifiers and receipt records, load and ticket data, ginning status, bale numbers, weights, classing and grade information, warehouse and shipping records, and related gin activity tied to your grower account.
This information originates from the gin's own systems. The gin, not GinLogistics, is the source of record for it.
Information collected automatically
Device information — device model, operating system version, App version, language settings, time zone, and a device or installation identifier.
Usage information — screens viewed, features used, dates and times of access, and diagnostic or crash information.
Log data — IP address and general request information recorded by our servers.
2. How we use information
To provide the App and display your cotton, module, bale, and gin activity.
To create and maintain your account and verify that you are authorized to view a particular grower's data.
To send you push notifications about your cotton, such as module receipt, ginning progress, or bale availability. See Section 6 for how to turn these off.
To respond to your support requests.
To operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App, including diagnosing crashes and analyzing which features are used.
To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, unauthorized access, and misuse.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use your information to serve you targeted ads.
We share information only as follows:
With the gin you do business with. Your account, contact, and activity information is available to the gin or gins associated with your grower account, so they can administer your account and support you. Information the gin provides to us remains subject to the gin's own privacy practices and its agreements with you.
With people you authorize. If you grant access to your data to a farm manager, consultant, family member, lender, or other representative, they will be able to see the information you have authorized.
With service providers. We use third-party vendors who process information on our behalf and are contractually limited to that purpose, including cloud hosting and data storage providers and push notification delivery services (including Apple Push Notification service).
For legal reasons. When we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or us.
In a business transfer. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require the recipient to honor this Policy or give you notice and a choice.
With your consent, for any other purpose you approve.
4. Where information is stored
Information is stored on cloud infrastructure operated by our hosting providers on servers located in the United States. We rely on those providers' physical, network, and administrative safeguards in addition to our own.
5. Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. After you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 90 days, except where we need to retain it to comply with legal, tax, audit, or recordkeeping obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Gin production records associated with your grower account may be retained by the gin under its own retention practices, independent of your GinLogistics account.
6. Your choices
Push notifications. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device's settings, or in the App's notification settings.
Location. The App does not request or collect location information from your device.
Access and correction. You can view and update your account details in the App. For production data supplied by the gin, contact your gin directly, since the gin is the source of record.
Account removal. Because accounts are set up by the gin rather than created in the App, you can have your access removed by contacting your gin. Removal of your GinLogistics access does not delete the gin's own production records for your cotton, which the gin maintains under its own practices.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit, access controls, and authentication requirements. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your login credentials confidential and notify us promptly at support@ginlogistics.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
8. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at support@ginlogistics.com and we will delete it.
9. Your U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you.
Request a copy of that information in a portable format.
Request correction of inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your personal information.
Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email support@ginlogistics.com. We will verify your identity, usually by confirming control of the email address or phone number on your account, before acting on the request. You may use an authorized agent, and we may ask for proof of that authorization.
As stated above, we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not process it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice through the App or by email before they take effect. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
